Spare Parts, a non-profit that links art education with respect for the environment, is collecting donations of school and art supplies for its third annual Fine Arts Fair for teachers, set for July 26 at Wonderland of the Americas mall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m..
Teachers who attend to learn about arts programs will have access to free materials and supplies collected from businesses, organizations and individuals.
“We need the community’s support,” said Mary Elizabeth Cantu, the organization’s founder. “We want this to be a place where the community can come and learn about all of the amazing art, cultural and eco-friendly opportunities there are for the youth in the city.”
Donations can be dropped off Wednesday at St. Paul School Gym, 350 Sutton Drive, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and on July 23 at Encino Park Elementary School, 2550 Encino Rio, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For a list of items to donate, visit sparepartstudio.org.
