Anna’s Linens will open a new store at Wonderland of the Americas next month. This will be the Costa Mesa, Calif-based retailer’s 10th store in the San Antonio area.
Anna’s Linens will occupy some 15,490 square feet of space on the second floor of the mall, next to Ross Dress for Less.
“We are very proud to welcome Anna’s Linens to the mall,” says Oscar Montemayor, director of leasing for Wonderland. “This allows us to offer an even greater shopping experience to our patrons, and adds to our roster of national retail tenants that will also enhance our Medical Center and The Shops at the Marketplace.”
The property, which debuted originally as Wonderland Mall in 1961, spans a total of 742,000 square feet at the Loop 410/Interstate Highway 10 interchange. In 2009, the shopping center, then called Crossroads Mall, was purchased by the Rosenberg Partnership, which subsequently changed the mall’s name to Wonderland of the Americas.
The Rosenberg Partnership has invested significantly to reposition Wonderland of the Americas as a more comprehensive asset for the community.
Tenants like Anna’s Linens, Ross Dress for Less, SuperTarget and Burlington Coat Factory are intended to meet the retail needs of the neighborhoods surrounding the mall.
But Wonderland’s owners have also carved out some other niches within Wonderland. The Medical Center, for example, is home to such tenants as Crossroads Medical Internal Medicine, Texas Orthodontics and two clinics operated by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
Meanwhile, The Shops at the Marketplace was created to offer small business an opportunity to lease booth space and to sell their items and/or services. The Marketplace, which spans about 40,000 square feet on the upper level of the mall, can accommodate about 125 businesses.
